Privacy Policy
Last updated October 19, 2026
This policy explains what information [Company legal name, e.g. Jobcrumb LLC] (“Jobcrumb”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers contractors who use Jobcrumb and the clients (homeowners) who view job pages, sign documents or pay invoices through it.
Contractors and clients: who decides what
When a contractor enters a client's details or job photos into Jobcrumb, the contractor decides what to collect and why. For that information, Jobcrumb acts as a service provider to the contractor. If you're a client and want your information changed or removed, contact your contractor first. You can also email us and we'll pass the request on.
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, company name, phone, address, license number and logo.
- Job records: client names and contact details, job addresses, notes, messages, estimates, change orders, invoices, expenses and time clock entries.
- Photos and files: photos, permits and inspection documents, plus the GPS location and time they were captured (when your device shares them) and a digital fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) used to show a file hasn't been altered.
- Signatures and approvals: when a client signs an estimate, change order or sign-off, we record their name, drawn signature, the terms shown, the time, IP address and browser type, to create a record of what was agreed.
- Work requests: the name, contact details, address and description someone submits on a contractor's request form, and the IP address it came from (used to block spam).
- Payments: card and bank details are entered on Stripe's pages and handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers. We receive payment amounts, status and fees.
- Usage and device information: pages viewed, when a client opens a job link, IP address, browser type and error logs, to run the Service, keep it secure and fix problems.
How we use it
- to provide the Service: store job records, show client pages, send emails such as invoices, reminders and notifications, and process payments;
- to keep accounts and data secure, prevent fraud and spam, and enforce our Terms;
- to provide support and tell you about changes to the Service or your account; and
- to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.
We don't sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use your job photos or client data to market to your clients.
Who we share it with
We share information only with companies that help us run Jobcrumb, under contracts that limit how they can use it:
- Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in;
- Vercel: hosting;
- Stripe: subscription billing and client payments;
- Resend: sending email.
Information on a job page is visible to anyone the contractor shares the link with. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect someone's safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy continues to apply).
How long we keep it
We keep job records for as long as the contractor's account is open, because they're often needed for warranties, disputes and taxes. When an account is closed, we delete its data within 90 days, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, payment or fraud-prevention reasons. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Each company's data is isolated at the database level, files are stored privately and shared only through short-lived links, and team members only see what their role allows. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us right away at support@jobcrumb.com if you think something is wrong.
Your choices and rights
- Contractors can view, edit, export and delete their records in the app, or email us to close their account.
- You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails. Account and transaction emails, such as invoices and receipts, can't be turned off while you use the Service.
- Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have the right to know what we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us to make a request; we'll verify it and respond within the time the law requires. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
Jobcrumb is for businesses and isn't meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll email account owners and update the date at the top before the changes take effect.
